On the way...

After arriving at Mumbai we bought a train ticket to Goa. It was an air-conditioned 3 tier sleeper class ticket. Of course we locked our packs to the train and tried to kill bugs and everything. At first it was a bit scary even to sit down, but after more than 12 hours of travelling on that train we got quite accustomed to the circumstances. We also became friend with the old guy sitting/sleeping next to us. We realized, that it is not that scary, that we (or at least me) thought it will be.

The catering is fantastic on the train, but our new friend said, that we would't like to see the kitchen... of course not. We ate samosa, pakora, something which we could catch the name of, gulab jamun, and curd... yes we tried it on our first day... we were brave but you know, we don't come to India very often.

Sleeping on the train was very comfortable, however we were afraid of missing the station at Goa. Fortunately, we didn't, so at around 19:30 we arrived at Thivim, Goa, where our friend Bettina waited for us with her friend. It was raining like hell... like always when we go somewhere. OK, this time expected this, since it is monsun time. Bettina and Savio took us to a guest house which they arranged on the way, and we decided to meet later and have some fun. The party was great. Of course we got home at 8 in the morning (to be discussed personally :-))

It's raining almost all the time but it's fun. We bought new clothes (they are extremely cheap), so we can change them if it is not comfortable any more. Thanks to the rain the weather is much bearable than at home. I am almost cold sometimes.

The food is great. I also tried to eat with my hands like Indians do, its fun but hard to remove the color afterwards.

I already have many mosquito bites. They are very itchy, but after say half an hour they almost completely disappear not like in Hungary. We take pills against malaria, I hope they work. I found a gecko in our room, which eats the mosquitoes... bon apetit!

Local people are staring at us all the time like they have never seen a white person before... :-) This morning some guys asked me if they can take some photos of me... some... it took half an hour till they get what they wanted :-)

I think we won't swim in the sea since it's very angry. But we could at least walk on the shore... until around 30 men came to stare at us... we decided to leave.

To be continued...

  1. Nagyon tuti az a vonaton alvós kép. :) Itthon is enyhült ám egy picit az idő, de még mindig elviselhetetlen!
Milyenek az emberek? Azon kívül, hogy bámulnak... :)
